Ricardo Leite (Porto, 1985) is a visual artist and designer working across digital and print media, with a background in graphic design, communication and digital media.

His work is defined by crafts and curiosity, using grids and design as a form to build consistent ideas. Type as content and as a container, he researches and creates daily as an addicted way to express his inner thoughts through the motto of crafts after all, “In every process there is a way to perceive and achieve the essential crafts.”

After studying Graphic Design at ESAD, Matosinhos, Portugal and completing a Master’s in Digital Media Design at Elisava, Barcelona, he started working with one Martin Allais at “TohertherOneMoreTime” Studio where he started exploring animation ad illustration techniques. That since his skillset got multidisciplinary combining the illustration world and the animation as another skill to his graphic design practice. Between Barcelona and Amsterdam he has spent the last 15 years living abroad and spanning his skillset and collaborating with brands and clients such such Adidas,..... Whether creating with his hands or shaping ideas through various software, he crafts contemplative visual experiences that bridge the tactile and the virtual.

His passion for graphic design and communication formats...., Ricardo explores diverse visual worlds where digital art, animation, contemporary creation, and design intertwine. Throughout his career, Ricardo has cultivated a deep passion for collaboration. Besides, stamps, letters, typefaces, graphics and more graphics he has a big passion about basketball what takes him weekly good memories on the grid on court around another one of his big inspirations, grids and culture.

The last years I have been teaching....... seeing creative dialogue as an essential part of his process. He has collaborated with artists and studios such as Six N. Five, Kris Andrew Small, Guash Studio, David Pocull, Daniel Savage, Marçal Vaquer, Pablo Alfieri, Simon Appel,  Guille Comín, Carolina Carballo, Carlos Neda, Adriana Valenzuela (Boom Lab), and Kushagra Gupta, among others. These shared explorations have continually expanded his visual language and deepened his relationship with digital experimentation.

He keeps creating weekly from his studio daily artworks between digital and print adventures where the limits are the imagination, thru VR sketches, to cinema 4d adventures to drawings that end up as posters he keeps his curiosity as a his grip that drives him daily.

About Leite Studio...

○ Are you a Studio or a Freelancer? ✱  I work primarily as an independent designer, a multidisciplinary and multidimensional creative based in Amsterdam. Leite Studio functions as a one-person practice that scales when needed through a trusted network of collaborators. It’s a flexible model that combines the agility of freelancing with the structure of a small studio, adaptable, collaborative, and open to new briefs and time zones.

○ Did you study or self-initiate?
✱ I hold a degree in Communication Design from ESAD in Portugal and a Master’s in Digital Media Design from Elisava, Barcelona. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve been working in the creative industry, continuously growing and evolving through both education and practice.

○ What’s Leite™? ✱ It’s my last name — in Portuguese, “Leite” means “Milk.” And no, it’s not “Late”.
